Sign of life
Dear all,
I think it’s about time to give a sign of life. Not through my webmasters or via media but just a genuine personal message. There is enough to tell…
First of all I’d like to say something about Aniday. The band is doing great and we’ve enrolled in the ‘Grote Prijs van Nederland’ which is a Dutch competition to give promising bands the chance to a mayor breakthrough. Several Dutch big names have gained a dominant position in the Dutch music scene though this competition so we’re very happy to have been selected for the Quarter-Finals.
The 13th of June, we’ll perform in these Quarter-Finals in a venue called ‘Plein 79’ in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. We’re hoping to see many of our fans there, as there will be several other brilliant bands we have to compete to. We need your support not only morally, but also because of the fact that there will also be an audience prize. The more people will come to support us there, the bigger our chances.
What I do with Aniday has and gets my foremost interest and energy. Nevertheless, I would like to point out some of the solo singing steps I recently took.
For my sponsor, Great Lengths, I have released a combination single. One of the songs on the single is a cover: Lady Marmalade. The other is an Aniday song called Get Funky. On Lady Marmalade I am featured as a solo artist together with Ilona van Gelder. Originally our sponsor would only release Aniday’s Get Funky to its clients, but then the managing director came up with the idea to also record Lady Marmalade, as it was the opening song of their show.
Together with Ilona I will do some gigs in 2009 (‘Marlona’). We’ll do ‘over the top’ tape shows in which we’ll cover very distinct female artists such as Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Madonna. (yeah, told you it was ‘over the top’) I always say it shows the best actress in you if you act out something that stands far from who you obviously are ore seem to be, which definitely is the case when I do a Marlona show. Furthermore I also think everyone has more than one side to them…. And so have I.
Also I am very proud to be featured on Valentine’s new single Save Myself which has only been released the 29th of May. I will take part in every upcoming Valentine show to perform Save Myself, and sometimes I’m even allowed to sing along in the killer song New World J jeey!
